Last week, I was able to explore and find new ideals as well as a vast amount of knowledge about my topic. One of the largest things that I had learned was that not all jobs that work with Cyber Security are directly stated as a "Cyber Security" job. One gentleman that I had interviewed works as an IT manager, yet does 50% of the Cyber security work (with his partner) even though his job title does not consist of "Cyber Security." Not only this, but writing another essay about an article that interested me gave me a very broad outlook of the topic, which then helped me look at all of the specifics I had learned and categorize them. One example of this, is that I had thought hackers were hackers, and they were just categorized by the specific things they do. But instead, there are categories of hackers, which then break off into those specifics that they do. Those more broad looked upon statement titles of 'hackers' go into “black hat” hackers, “crackers” or simply “attackers," which then break off into the people that do "unauthorized access" as well as a lot more. Lastly, last week I was able to interview a former ISM student, whom which interns at a company in san antonio that works with electricity as well as power. One question that provoked me was "why would anyone want to hack a power and water company?" But there are many reason with some being to steal company and employee data, mess with the cit electricity, as well as steal money from the company. But having this interview, helped see what a former ISM student turned to be, as well as the discussion on how to manage time, as well as his original work and research that he did throughout the course.
