Last week, after getting a good grip on the internet of things and having a very good idea on what it is, I was able to look into a research paper by the Congressional research service, and which had a different Viewpoint of The Internet of Things. The last article that I had looked at was more on the basis of The Internet of Things is amazing. This article said that it is one of the greatest things of all time, yet they argued that it is very unsafe in the cyber world and there needs to be some regulatory issues looked at by the government. They had talked about the growth of the number of connected devices, as well as all of the data security issues at the Internet of Things presents. They also put the IRT into four categories that are very general in their nature. The first one being the internet of industrial things (IIoT) which is the manufacturing industry and their application to the IRT. The second one is the internet of medical things (IoMT) in which the healthcare field is adapting the internet of things into their practices. The third one is smart cities, which is the adoption of iot devices and systems for transportation and infrastructure to be faster and more reliable. The last one is Smart Homes, which is what I will be looking at in my final product. This is pretty much all of the things that fall under the convenience over security category. One of the interesting things that this article had told me was that a house or even a warehouse can be put under ransomware if they have a digital Smart Lock on their door. All in all, I'm excited to keep researching about the internet of things and start screen position into the products and their works on the Internet of Things.
