Last week, I was able to kind of start to get an idea on what I wanted to do for my final project of the year. What I am first looking into as an idea is 5G and its Evolution as well as ways to be safe on it. To get into this, I researched a paper that explained 5G very broadly as well as gave the general idea on how they created 5G while keeping it safe. It was sad, that they first started with a face, then went into a component or two, and then those went to some scenario. What I mean by this is that when they were installing 5G, in order to keep it safe, they first conducted a thesis on what they were going to do, and then they put it into a couple components. For the first one they started out by creating a plan on the way that they would build 5G, physically on the towers, as well as what is in the air. And the components of this or the security of the infrastructures they build, as well as the taking advantages of what they already know a 5G to keep it secure. then they ran some scenarios which were simple things like texting or calling people on it and seeing if people could access it and if it was faster and more secure. For the next phase, they look into how they could keep it safe while deploying it to the public. The first component was enhancing the security capabilities that they have as well as the security of the transition from 4G to 5G. Then they ran the same scenarios over again. One very interesting piece that I had learned about this was that 5G standards have been designated to support different specific capabilities in the way of the network deployment options. Which means that each architecture and design may be different depending on the capabilities and services at that particular 5G strain it is going for.
